Dear All,

This is first of my series on travel wherein I will be sharing my experience of traveling to different places around the world with the purpose that it might be useful for you as a reference point and might help you to better plan your beautiful journey .

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in traveling , but an amateur and I am just sharing my personal experience and this should not be construed as official source of Information.

GREECE

It was a wonderful experience for me to travel to this place as I travelled at a time when every tv channel ,newspaper , social media , blog almost everything in media was covering Greece as it was the centre of all trouble in Eurozone.

I was also scared to travel to this region after learning that almost 25% of the population is unemployed and feeling it might be scary to visit this place as their might be violence , protest , but to my surprise I found it quite opposite & people were really nice and helpful.

Now lets talk about my journey.

Below was my itenary

Day 1- Athens
Day 2- Half day Travel to santorini Island
Day 2- Half day Santorini Island
Day 3- Santorini Island
Day 4- Santorini Island
Day 5- Travel to Mykonos from Santorini
Day 6 – Mykonos Island
Day 7 – Flight back to Athens from Mykonos

Lets discuss day by day

Day 1- Athens

This is the day when u will arrive to Athens and you should use this day for site seeing if you are reaching by early morning flight and you are ready for the city same day else you can take rest and do half day city tour.

Travel Tip 1
Book a hotel close to Athens port as you have to take early morning ferry to one of the islands

Day 2- Athens (Piraeus Port) to Santorini (Port Name – Thira)

Travel time : Appx 4.45 hr Departure 7.30 Arrival 12.15

You can book your ferry tickets in advance from below mentioned link, take a print and replace the eticket with paper ticket at the port

Travel Tip 2

Make sure u arrange a hotel pickup from Santorini ( Thira Port) as there are limited taxis and so many people arrive at same time in same ferry and its difficult to get the cab or another option is to take one of the shared mini bus

Day 3- Santorini Island

Enjoy your stay at this beautiful island and not to mention to see the sunset at Oia Village

Day 4- Santorini Island

Day 5- Ferry from Santorini to Mykonos

Travel Time: Appx 2.35 hr Departure 12.00 Arrival 14.35

Look for a resort close to beach and beach party so u can have the maximum fun

Travel Tip 3

Mykonos is all about party animals so be ready with your beach clothes and for the wildest beach parties you ever been ( I guarantee)

Travel Tip 4

Once in Mykonos you really have to call cab , no other option apart from public transport bus which is not convenient at all

Day 6 – Mykonos Island

Do visit Little Venice which is small old city based on theme of Venice hence named Little Venice . This is the place where most of the international cruise liners stop .
Don’t forget to get your photos clicked in front of oldest wind mills.

Day 7- Flight back to Athens

I suggest to take a flight back to Athens airport than to take a ferry again to save the time .
